KIPP Austin Collegiate had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Valor Kyle Kingfishers by a score of 3-1.

KIPP Austin Collegiate had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-8, 25-11, 25-10.

KIPP Austin Collegiate can attribute much of their success to Leah Orozco, who had ten digs. Those ten digs gave Orozco a new career-high.

KIPP Austin Collegiate was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

KIPP Austin Collegiate's win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Austin Collegiate will welcome Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valor Kyle, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Valor South Austin at 5:30 p.m. on October 3.
