Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Natalie Buchanan and Ellie Johnson Lead Black Hills to Victory

Black Hills posted their biggest victory since December 14, 2024 on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 55-35 margin over the Centralia Tigers. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.

Black Hills was led to victory by Ellie Johnson and Natalie Buchanan. Johnson almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, while Buchanan dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Megan Dolby was another key player, putting up eight points.

Black Hills smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Black Hills now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Centralia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (WF West has six straight wins, Centralia has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
