Basketball Preview: Lincoln East Spartans vs. Papillion-LaVista South Titans
Having just played yesterday, the Lincoln East Spartans will get right back to it and host the Papillion-LaVista South Titans at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Lincoln East has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 251 points over their last four contests.
On Friday, Lincoln East narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 55-52.
Even though Papillion-LaVista South has not done well against the Rockets recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Papillion-LaVista South made off with a 49-48 victory over the Rockets.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Papillion-LaVista South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Morehouse, who scored 17 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Medeck, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Lincoln East's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Lincoln East didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Titans in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. Will Lincoln East repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
