Basketball Recap: St. John Takes a Loss

If St. John was riding high fresh off their 66-27 takedown of Cardinal last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. John Fighting Herald fell just short of the Bristol Panthers by a score of 56-53 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Herald in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

St. John's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Bristol, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John will challenge Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. John is facing Maplewood at the right time seeing as Maplewood is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bristol, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Bristol Panthers face off against the Chalker Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
