Baseball Recap: Charlotte Catholic Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

The matchup between Charlotte Catholic and East Mecklenburg on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Cougars put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 13-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Will O'Rourke looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Matt McKnight was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Gornet, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
