Basketball Recap: Summerville Takes a Loss

Summerville lost against Golden Valley back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Summerville Bears took a hard 54-39 fall against the Golden Valley Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1083rd, while the Cougars are ranked 284th).

Summerville has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Golden Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Summerville will take on Calaveras at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Calaveras has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Golden Valley, they will be playing at home against Buhach Colony at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
