Football Game Preview: Berryville Bobcats vs. Gentry Pioneers

Berryville hasn't had much luck against Gentry recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Berryville has given up an average of 39.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Berryville faced off against Gravette on Friday. The Bobcats were beaten by the Lions 56-7.

Meanwhile, Gentry had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 21-9 win over the Eagles.

Berryville better keep an eye on Talan Williams. He was instrumental in Gentry's win, rushing for 112 yards and two scores, while also throwing for 165 yards and one TD. Those 112 rushing yards gave Williams a new career-high.

Gentry's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Aidan Eller, Jayden Knox, and Jaxson Holt, who each picked up one sack apiece. Gentry got some further help from Eller: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Gentry's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Berryville, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Berryville was taken down by Gentry 55-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bobcats were down 45-7.
