Football Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Springfield and Providence Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Springfield had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Celtics 63-19. While losing is never fun, the Senators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Celtics are ranked 30th).

Springfield is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5. As for Providence Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Springfield nor Providence Catholic have any future games scheduled.
