Softball Recap: Linden Lions vs. Bear Creek Bruins
Linden stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They never let the Bear Creek Bruins onto the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Linden's pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four contests.
Katie Schallberger was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Schallberger was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Linden got a massive performance out of Millee Holguin, who went 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple. Olivia Fears was another key contributor, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and a triple.
On Bear Creek's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanah Perry, who went 1-for-2 with a double.
Linden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Bear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8-1.
Linden will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
