William & Mary commitment nearing 11,000 career passing yards.

Quarterback Shon Mitchell of Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) brought his career passing yardage total to 10,766 on Friday night during a 43-21 playoff win over Bayside (Virginia Beach).

Mitchell surpassed a former Oscar Smith signal caller – Philip Sims – for the top spot on Virginia's all-time passing yardage list. Sims, who went on to play at Alabama, finished his Tiger high school career with 10,725.

A Williams & Mary commitment, Mitchell needed just 109 yards and a pair of TD throws to help perennial power Oscar Smith move past Bayside comfortably.

The Tigers (11-1) opened the season with a lopsided loss to DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) but haven't lost since heading into the Class 6A quarterfinals next week against Woodside (Newport News).
