If Jason Groome's season-opening performance last week was considered outstanding, what would you call his performance against Central Regional on Monday?

Otherworldly, perhaps?

In just his second start of the season, Groome, who is considered the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the Major League Baseball Draft in June, threw a no-hitter in a 6-0 win against Central Regional (Bayville, N.J.). He struck out 19 while hitting 90-94 mph with his fastball, according to tweets by Hudson Belinsky of Baseball America.

Belinsky also noted that the 6-foot-5 Barnegat (N.J.) lefthander touched 97 at one point and showcased a plus-plus curveball. The only baserunner reached on an error and Groome was able to pick him off for the out.

In his season opener last week against Point Pleasant Boro, Groome struck out 10 and gave up two hits with one walk in four innings.
