Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Glendora Tartans

For the second straight game, Walnut will face off against Glendora. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Tartans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Walnut couldn't beat Glendora on Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Mustangs came up short against the Tartans, falling 13-6. The Mustangs have struggled against the Tartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

For Glendora's part, Sebastian Lawrence looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Lawrence has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tyler Obert was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Mason Danison was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Glendora kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

Glendora has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
