You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Nokomis's strategy against Shelbyville on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Nokomis Redskins blew the Shelbyville Rams out of the water with a 71-37 final score. The Redskins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 26 points or more this season.

Nokomis found their leader in sophomore Alivia Sabol, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards. Sabol has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Grace Dewerff was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Nokomis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

When it comes to explaining why Shelbyville lost, don't look at Kenzie Jones. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 12 boards, and nine blocks. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in blocks. Rylee Nichols also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Nokomis pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Shelbyville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Nokomis will welcome Sandoval at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nokomis has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three matches. Shelbyville has already played their next contest (against Central A & M), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
