Baseball Recap: Coudersport Falcons vs. Smethport Hubbers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wellsboro, Coudersport was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Smethport Hubbers a 14-0 shutout. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Hubbers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Lawon Wetzel made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Coudersport is 4-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-3 otherwise. Wetzel was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.
