Volleyball Recap: Freeport Falls Despite Big Games from Alyssa Richards and Lexi Lingle

Freeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belvidere North Blue Thunder. The Pretzels were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Thunder from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-13.

Despite the loss, Freeport had strong showings from Lexi Lingle, who had seven assists and five digs, and Alyssa Richards, who had four digs.

Freeport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Belvidere North, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Freeport has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Central on the 15th. As for Belvidere North, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Rockford East on the 16th.
