Baseball Recap: Talawanda's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oak Hills, Talawanda was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Northwest Knights as they made off with a 14-4 win. With that victory, the Brave brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Austin Puckett looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hunter Griffin was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Connor Sayler, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Talawanda's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7. As for Northwest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Talawanda will face off against Monroe at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Northwest, they will take on Finneytown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
