Basketball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. Biloxi Indians

Long Beach is 0-7 against Biloxi since December of 2014 but things could change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Long Beach Bearcats will head out on the road to face off against the Biloxi Indians at 3:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Long Beach took on Moss Point on Friday. Long Beach took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Moss Point. That's two games in a row now that the Bearcats have lost by exactly 13 points.

Meanwhile, Biloxi had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They blew past the Hawks 74-31. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 24 points or more this season.

Biloxi's win came from a few key players Long Beach will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Josh Canaan, who posted ten points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Reggie MaGee, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

Biloxi pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for Long Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.

Long Beach took a serious blow against Biloxi in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 61-32.
