Soccer Game Preview: Shafter vs. Delano

The Shafter Generals will look to take advantage of their home pitch for the first time this season as they take on the Delano Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Shafter lost 6-1 to Centennial back in December of 2024. The Generals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-0.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Delano faced off against Mira Monte on Friday. 2025 welcomed Delano with a 6-1 loss courtesy of Mira Monte. The Tigers have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Delano's goal came courtesy of Lionel Madrigal, who's now up to six this season.

Shafter's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Delano, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4-2.

Shafter took their victory against Delano in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0. Will Shafter repeat their success, or does Delano have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
