Basketball Recap: Germantown Snags Fifth Win in Last Six Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Germantown had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Bay Port Pirates with a 71-65 win. The Warhawks' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Danica Gosz was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. The contest was her seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Mani, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Germantown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. They are 11-2 when they hit their own glass that hard.

Germantown has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. With the defeat, Bay Port broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-8.

As of now, neither Germantown nor Bay Port have any future games scheduled.
