Basketball Recap: Timberline Comes Up Short in High-Profile Match with Eagle

On Thursday, Timberline faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Timberline Wolves lost 55-32 to the Eagle Mustangs. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 56-53.

Eagle was led to victory by Porter Wood and Berkley Jones. Wood almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards, while Jones went 8-for-13 en route to 20 points and five rebounds. What's more, Wood also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Taya Nelson was another key player, putting up six points.

Timberline's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Eagle, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Timberline has already played their next matchup, a 51-28 victory against Ridgevue on the 8th. As for Eagle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-46 win against Owyhee on the 8th.
