Softball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Sheridan lost against Taft back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans fell 9-6 to the Tigers.

Sheridan saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Pownall, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Lizzie Paquin also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Sheridan dropped their record down to 2-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Taft, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13.

Coming up, Sheridan will welcome Blanchet Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.53 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Taft, they will challenge Santiam Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
