Baseball Game Preview: Pulaski County Maroons vs. Boyle County Rebels

Pulaski County is 1-6 against Boyle County since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Maroons will head out to face off against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Pulaski County came up short against North Laurel and fell 9-6.

Will Adams was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Cason Findling also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Boyle County came tearing into Monday's match with 15 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Jaguars.

Caeden Patterson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Boyle County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Claunch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Another was Logan Perry, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Boyle County pushed their record up to 22-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Pulaski County, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Pulaski County came up short against Boyle County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 8-5. Can the Maroons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
