Baseball Game Preview: Cashmere Bulldogs vs. Wapato Wolves

The Cashmere Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Wapato Wolves at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cashmere is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Cashmere is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since May 4, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Naches Valley by a score of 4-2. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Rangers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Tom McDevitt spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Levi Strutzel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Meanwhile, Wapato got the win against White Swan on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-6. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Wapato's victory bumped their record up to 2-9-1. As for Cashmere, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
