Preview: Tippecanoe Valley Vikings vs. Western Panthers

Tippecanoe Valley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Western Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Western took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Tippecanoe Valley, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Tippecanoe Valley beat the Jimmies 36-29.

Tippecanoe Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephen Akase, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kyler Johnson, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Western's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 73-47 walloping at the hands of Clinton Prairie. While losing is never fun, Western can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Gophers are ranked 109th).

Logan Nelson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Quillen, who scored seven points.

Tippecanoe Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Western, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.
