Softball Game Preview: Sayre Redskins vs. Williamson Warriors

Sayre is 0-10 against Williamson since May of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Redskins will face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Sayre has given up an average of 14.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sayre is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Friday. They came up short against North Penn-Liberty, falling 17-3.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Williamson and Northeast Bradford, and Northeast Bradford kept the tradition alive. The Warriors took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Thursday.

Joelie Stephens and Lexi Smalley stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stephens went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Smalley got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Williamson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Sayre, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.

Sayre suffered a grim 18-8 defeat to Williamson in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
