Volleyball Recap: Calhoun Red Devils vs. Tyler Knights
Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Tyler Knights, falling 3-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Red Devils haven't been shut out since back in August.
The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-10, 25-18.
Tyler found their leader in underclassman Raylynn Heintzman, who had eight digs and 32 assists. Heintzman is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Sandy, who had four digs and three aces.
Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Tyler, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.
After both having extra time off, Calhoun and Wirt County will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun is facing Wirt County at the right time seeing as Wirt County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Tyler, they and Ritchie County are set to duel on Tuesday. Tyler will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
