Basketball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Ventura Cougars

Having just played yesterday, Capistrano Valley will head out on the road to face off against Ventura at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Capistrano Valley blew Dos Pueblos out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Dos Pueblos got their revenge. The Cougars fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 54-52.

Meanwhile, Ventura played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 76-45 loss at the hands of Chaminade. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 696th, while the Eagles are ranked fifth).

Capistrano Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Ventura, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
