Football Game Preview: Warsaw Wildcats vs. Butler Bears

The Warsaw Wildcats will face off against the Butler Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Warsaw is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Warsaw's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-0 win over El Dorado Springs. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 26 points or more this season.

Josh Harvath was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and three scores on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Warsaw was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 201 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Butler didn't have quite enough to beat Cole Camp on Friday and fell 38-36. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Warsaw will need to focus on slowing down Bryson Kash, one of several Butler players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 83 yards and a pair of TDs. Another player making a difference was Lucas Davidson, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown on only five carries.

Butler's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Warsaw, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Warsaw has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 281.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Butler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 230.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Warsaw beat Butler 13-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
