Softball Recap: Lockland Panthers vs. Mariemont Warriors
It was a good run, but Lockland unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Mariemont Warriors by a score of 15-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lockland of the 22-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2019.
Liselle Bradford led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylah Smith, who went 1-for-6 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Lockland's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Mariemont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Lockland will head out on the road to challenge Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mariemont, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Wyoming at 5:00 p.m. Mariemont is out to stop a 12-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
