Volleyball Recap: Shakamak Has No Trouble Against White River Valley

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shakamak walked away with it. They blew past the White River Valley Wolverines 3-0 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Lakers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won six in a row.

Bralyn Calvert paced Shakamak's offense, picking up nine kills. Calvert got some help from Ava McCrary and her 18 assists.

Despite the loss, White River Valley still got an impressive performance from Zyleigh Abrams-Condol, who had 21 digs and one assist. Abrams-Condol is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Shakamak's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for White River Valley, with the defeat, they broke their seven-match winning streak and moved their record to 14-11.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Shakamak and Loogootee will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. White River Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
