Softball Recap: St. Mary's Dominican Takes a Loss

St. Mary's Dominican fell victim to Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which St. Mary's Dominican was not able to get on the board.

Aubrey Daigrepont spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. Mary's Dominican saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Catherine Andrade, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

St. Mary's Dominican's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

St. Mary's Dominican will challenge E.D. White at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, they will welcome John Ehret at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
