Baseball Recap: Fort Zumwalt East's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Fort Zumwalt East had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They skirted past the Howell Central Spartans 7-5. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Jackson Bingham, who went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Tyler Kliethermes, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Fort Zumwalt East's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-11. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of three runs across that stretch. As for Howell Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-17 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Zumwalt East will host Orchard Farm at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Howell Central, they will welcome Christian Brothers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
