Soccer Game Preview: McDonald County vs. Carthage

McDonald County is 0-5 against Carthage since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

McDonald County managed to slip by Aurora the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs came up short against the Houn Dawgs on Tuesday, falling 3-0. McDonald County's loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Carthage fell victim to Glendale and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to the Falcons. Carthage haven't had much luck with Glendale recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Carthage now has a losing record of 2-3. As for McDonald County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

McDonald County couldn't quite get it done against Carthage in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
