Softball Recap: Marengo Comes Up Short

If Marengo was feeling good fresh off their 25-1 takedown of Johnson two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Marengo Panthers lost 17-2 to the Choctaw County Tigers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Marengo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Choctaw County, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Choctaw County beat Marengo by a score of 16-0 later that day.
