Volleyball Recap: Burncoat Starts Season with Win at Home

Burncoat gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They won by a set and slipped past the North Polar Bears 3-2. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Polar Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Burncoat took North into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 25-21, 25-10, 22-25, 15-4.

Jayden Mott paced Burncoat's offense, picking up 21 kills. Mott got some help from Kevin Rojas and his 24 assists. Mott was also solid from the service line: he led the team with 12 aces.

Coincidentally, Burncoat and North will both be playing South the next time they take the court. Burncoat will host South at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, while North will head out to face them at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
