Softball Recap: Churchill Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Churchill can now relate to. They fell 10-5 to the Harlan Hawks on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 on Saturday.

Courtney Kohler was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Churchill has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-16-1 record this season. As for Harlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Churchill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harlan, they will challenge Cedar Ridge on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 3.4, the Raiders 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
