Centerville is 9-1 against Wayne since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Elks will head out on the road to challenge the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Centerville is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Fairmont just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a blow against the Firebirds, falling 54-24. The matchup marked the Elks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Wayne was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 58-54 to Beavercreek.

Centerville will have to keep a close watch on Dezirae Thomas and Nariya Goddard, a pair of players who had a big impact on Wayne's prior game. Thomas shot 55% from beyond the arc to rack up 20 points, while Goddard dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards. Thomas continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaiya Quartman, who posted four points.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Centerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Centerville was able to grind out a solid victory over Wayne in their previous meeting back in December of 2025, winning 63-56. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
