Softball Game Preview: North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers

North Raleigh Christian Academy has gone a perfect 10-0 against Durham Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. North Raleigh Christian Academy will look to defend their home field against Durham Academy at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Durham Academy will be up against a hot North Raleigh Christian Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. North Raleigh Christian Academy was the clear victor by an 18-3 margin over Ravenscroft on Friday.

Cora Harmsen was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Knox, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

North Raleigh Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Durham Academy never let their opponents score on March 6th. They blew past Durham School of the Arts 16-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cavaliers considering their one-run performance the game before.

Stella Teis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time she hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cassie Stallone was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Maya Patel was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Durham Academy, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

North Raleigh Christian Academy took their victory against Durham Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0.
