Softball Recap: Calhoun City Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Calhoun City had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Palmer Dragons 17-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matchups by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Calhoun City let Justiyah Pittman and Chloe Goodson run wild. Pittman went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Goodson scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Pittman has posted since back in March. Olivia Vance was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Calhoun City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Calhoun City's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Palmer, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Calhoun City has already played their next contest, a 9-7 win against Vardaman on the 12th. Palmer has also already played their next game (against Rosa Fort), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
