Baseball Recap: Meeker Comes Up Short

Meeker extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 13-8. They came up short against the Oklahoma Christian Saints, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

As for Oklahoma Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

For Oklahoma Christian's part, they got a great performance from Cale Carter as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Carter has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Spencer Stevens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Hudson Able also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meeker will square off against Okemah at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Oklahoma Christian, they will host Mount St. Mary at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
