Soccer Game Preview: Porter Ridge vs. Providence

Porter Ridge hasn't had much luck against Providence recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Porter Ridge Pirates will face off against the Providence Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Porter Ridge made easy work of Union Academy and carried off a 5-2 victory. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence). They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over Independence on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won five in a row.

Providence hit Independence with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bella Dragone (3), Georgia-Allen Aaron, Payton Dragone, and Madison Detenber.

The victory made it two in a row for Porter Ridge and bumps their season record up to 5-2-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two games. As for Providence, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
