Soccer Recap: Gordon Central Comes Up Short

Gordon Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Sonoraville Phoenix, falling 9-0. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2021.

Gordon Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sonoraville, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Gordon Central will take on Adairsville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Gordon Central has given up an average of 6.2 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Sonoraville, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-0 win against Rockmart on the 4th.
