Softball Recap: Walnut Has No Trouble Against Pine Grove

It was a proper cat-fight when Walnut duked it out with Pine Grove on Saturday. Walnut blew past Pine Grove 7-1. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Baylee Spight and Addison Hicks did most of the damage at the plate: Spight scored two runs while going 1-for-2, while Hicks went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Allie Jackson was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Walnut was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Grove only posted a batting average of .150.

The victory got Walnut back to even at 6-6. As for Pine Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut will host Hatley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Grove, they will take on Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
