Soccer Game Preview: St. Francis vs. Crescenta Valley

The St. Francis Golden Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Crescenta Valley Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Francis will be strutting in after a victory while Crescenta Valley will be coming in after a defeat.

St. Francis will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Burroughs on Friday. Everything went St. Francis' way against Burroughs as St. Francis made off with a 4-1 win. The result kept the Golden Knights happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Crescenta Valley was not quite Notre Dame (SO)'s equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The loss was the Falcons' first of the season.

Their goal came courtesy of Dylan Lee, which was the first he's scored this season.

St. Francis' victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for Crescenta Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

St. Francis was able to grind out a solid win over Crescenta Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, winning 2-0. Will St. Francis repeat their success, or does Crescenta Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
