Softball Recap: Timber Creek Takes a Loss

Timber Creek extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 9-11 in the process. They came up short against the Winter Springs Bears, falling 12-2. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Bears when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Timber Creek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Piper Wright, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

As for Winter Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The result was nothing new for Winter Springs, who have now won 12 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Winter Springs' side, Madison Barahona made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Barahona was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Winter Springs got a big performance out of Katelyn Wassey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Alondra Maldonado, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Timber Creek nor Winter Springs have any future games scheduled.
