It was a good run, but Battle Mountain unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost to the West Wendover Wolverines at home by a 54-40 margin. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-59 back in January.

Despite the loss, Battle Mountain still got an impressive performance from Zayne Hall, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Hall has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Brodie Smith was another key player, going 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Battle Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Adryan Carlos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Wendover, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Efren Delmuro, who posted 11 points along with five boards and four steals.

Battle Mountain's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-6. As for West Wendover, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Battle Mountain has already played their next contest, a 61-32 win against Silver Stage on the 31st. As for West Wendover, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-47 victory against Sierra Lutheran on the 31st.
