Football Recap: Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Classical Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Coastal Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 20-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stingrays.

Despite the loss, Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Thomas Wentzel, who picked up 80 receiving yards and one score.

Nolan White produced another solid effort rushing for 121 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries for Coastal Academy. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 76 yards.

Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Coastal Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Classical Academy will square off against Bishop's at 7:00 p.m. on October 4. The matchup will give the Caimans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Coastal Academy, they will take on Vincent Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
