Softball Game Preview: Collinsville Pirates vs. Tom Bean Tomcats

Collinsville is 0-4 against Tom Bean since February of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Collinsville Pirates will welcome the Tom Bean Tomcats at 5:30 p.m.

Collinsville is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 10-2 to Whitewright. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Collinsville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zoey Kays, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Kays also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tom Bean). They came out on top against Collinsville by a score of 16-12 two weeks ago. The victory continues a trend for the Tomcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won four in a row.

Collinsville's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Tom Bean, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.
