Basketball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Bethel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by the Hilltop Christian Chargers 64-19. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-13.

Meleah Bell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 28 points and 17 rebounds for Hilltop Christian. Bell is becoming a predictor of Hilltop Christian's success: when she posts at least 15 points the team is 5-1 (and 7-10 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Valerie Meza, who almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine assists.

Bethel Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Hilltop Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-11.

Bethel Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-28 loss against Jacksonville Christian Academy on the 10th. As for Hilltop Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 65-40 defeat against Trinity Christian on the 11th.
