Basketball Game Preview: Highland Huskies vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars

The Highland Huskies will venture away from home to challenge the Resurrection Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Highland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Windsor Charter Academy, who was ranked tenth at the time (Highland was ranked 22nd). Highland came up short against Windsor Charter Academy on Tuesday, falling 81-55. The Huskies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-26.

Meanwhile, Resurrection Christian put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 72-35 victory over Platte Valley. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Resurrection Christian's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-3.

Highland strolled past Resurrection Christian in their previous matchup back in January of 2021 by a score of 66-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
